Hunter  Leaf, Jr.

Hunter Leaf, Jr., 81, died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Staten Island, New York and lived most of his adult life in Savannah. He was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church where he was a member of the Adult Choir for many years. He was the former owner of Beverage Sales Co, Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joanne K. Leaf, and his sister, Nancy Wolfe, other family members include his children Hunter Leaf, III, Joyce Ann, Jan Jenkins, late husband, Randy, Harry Leaf, late wife, Cathy, Kathy Leaf, and Karen Otto, Terry. His grandchildren, Chris Jenkins, Amanda, Annie Cogdell, Blake Jenkins, Elizabeth Ann, Clint Jenkins, Jessica, Joanna Papy, Trey, Whitney Leaf, Jordan Otto, Skylar Leaf, and Isabelle Leaf. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Jacie Jenkins, Randy Jenkins, Collyn Jenkins, and Maggie Jenkins.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. Burial will be in the Church Memorial Garden.

I met Hunter about 26 years ago..he was truly a good man. He loved his family, his employees and Savannah. The last time I saw him was at a sand gnats game a couple of years ago. He still had that smile. Even though he was my client retirement plan..I regarded him as a friend. He was a gentleman with a sense of humor. I am very sad of his passing.
